Most Golfers Have More Than Enough Ability
In my extensive experience teaching golf I have come to see that most golfers have more than enough ability. Yet they struggle. Their problem lies not with their talent level, but because they are trying to do something wrong. In a clear majority of cases they are trying to hit up at the golf ball and...hitting up is wrong!

Trying to Get Under the Ball is Not What You Want to Do
Too often I see students trying to get under the ball to lift it into the air - and that is not how a golf shot works. The more they try, the more they fail. The "amount" they practice becomes inconsequential because what they're practicing is wrong.

Clearly explaining the physics of the golf swing - a downward action - suddenly allowed students to do things they "wanted" to do before, but could never achieve. Actions such as a proper weight shift, releasing the golf club, and even chipping became simple when the action was consciously married to a downward strike at the ball.

It was never my intention to add to the vast amount of golf books available. But I kept hearing the same comment when I would tell students to "hit down" at the ball:

"No one has ever told me that before!"

And so, "Hit Down Dammit!" was born. While this is not a "how-to play golf" lesson, no beginner can afford to learn this game without the vital information included in Hit Down Dammit!. And as for intermediate or advanced players, many having reached a plateau in their golf game, "Hit Down Dammit" will demonstrate how fully understanding the principle of the swing will remove impediments to improvement.
